Coaching is an absolutely confidential collaboration between the client and the coach, where the coach uses questions and deep listening to help the client achieve their goals and gain self-awareness and insights along the way. These goals can relate to specific professional areas or aspects of life. Coaching is suitable for anyone who wants to grow personally and professionally and is ready to invest in their own development. I have successfully helped clients, for example, improve their leadership skills and find a better work-life balance.
In Individual Coaching, you receive the coach's full attention and are the sole focus of the sessions (compared to, for example, team coaching, where the entire team is coached simultaneously).
Five Brain-Based Elements of My Coaching
My coaching approach is built upon five elements rooted in neuroscience and brain-based understanding:
-
Coaching is Self-Directed Learning. I help you find the answers; I do not give advice. Each of our brains is unique, and only you can know the right answers for yourself.
-
Coaching is Solution-Focused. The coaching process concentrates on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems.
-
Coaching is Challenging. Learning occurs when you step outside your comfort zone, and it is rare to challenge ourselves effectively when working alone. Therefore, my role as a coach is to challenge you and, at times, gently move you beyond your comfort zone.
-
Positive Feedback is Essential in Coaching. You do not face challenges alone; I am here to support you 100%. You will receive encouragement and positive feedback from me, helping you grow and achieve your important goals and visions.
-
The Fifth and Final Element is Structure. The coaching structure ensures we stay on the right path, enabling you to succeed and achieve your goals and visions. We use the same structure in every session because neuroscientific research shows that our brains crave and need certainty. When you know what to expect from each session, you can better focus on learning, facilitating the insights you need to reach your objectives.
Coaching vs. Other Development Methods
Coaching is not therapy, although it can have therapeutic effects. How do you distinguish between therapy, coaching, mentoring, and consulting/training?
-
Therapy focuses on the past and problems, and the therapist helps the client find solutions.
-
Consulting may also focus on the past and problems, but the consultant provides the client with the answers and solutions.
-
Mentoring and Training focus on solutions, and like consulting, the client receives ready-made answers.
-
Pure Coaching helps the client find their own answers through questions, focusing on solutions and the future.
The TAPS(trademark) model (Tell-Ask-Problem-Solution) clearly illustrates where coaching sits in relation to others.

Crucially, the coach does not need to be an expert in the client's specific goals or field. The coach is an expert in the coaching process and in leading the coaching sessions. Coaching can therefore be described as: Facilitating positive change by improving thinking.
How Does the Coaching Process Work?
Our coaching process typically consists of 10–12 sessions over a period of 3–6 months. We will have a virtual 1 to 1.5-hour coaching session approximately every two weeks.
In the first session, we will establish three inspiring and meaningful primary goals or visions that the coaching will be built around. In the second session, we will create a detailed plan for all your goals or visions. The following 2–5 months will be dedicated to working on these plans and gaining insights along the way. The final session is a summary, where we review your achievements from your coaching journey and celebrate your successes.
What Can You Expect?
Coaching is intended to be challenging. You may experience strong emotions during or between coaching sessions, and that is absolutely okay! My coaching sessions provide a safe environment to express your feelings.
Coaching is also intended to feel easy. You should feel a sense of success and a belief that your goals are achievable.
If, at some point during the coaching journey, it doesn't feel challenging at all, it's a sign that something has gone wrong. Therefore, we maintain a combination of ease and challenge: I challenge you while simultaneously supporting you and helping you visualize the steps forward.
Can I Stop Coaching Mid-Process?
You can decide to end the coaching process at any time, even without providing a reason. Coaching is built around your wishes and goals, and if your situation changes mid-journey and you no longer wish to continue, the process can be concluded. This makes starting the coaching journey risk-free!
